Plastic is all around us; in your home, university, shops, restaurants and even as you walk down the high street you’ll pass plastic products. But unfortunately, each year approximately 8.8 million tons of plastic waste ends up in the World’s oceans which endangers wildlife, pollutes the water, and puts human health at risk.

Some plastic products are hard wearing and used for long-term purposes. However, approximately 40% of the plastic waste is made up of single-use items. This includes items such as straws, water bottles and bags. But with just a few small changes to your day-to-day life, you can help to make a big difference towards reducing the amount of waste that ends up in the ocean. Below we’ve pulled together a few things you can do to reduce your waste…
