Guest blog – third year student living at Central Point, Plymouth.
I am currently in the third year of my degree, doing a placement year. During my placement, I decided to stay at Central Point student accommodation in Plymouth. I opted to live in one of the studio rooms because I really wanted my own space as well as having a peaceful environment where I could just come home to and unwind in after work.
In terms of the location, Central Point is ideally located right in the centre of town. This, of course, has many benefits for a student like me. I’m only a 5-minute walk away from the waterfront, a 10-minute walk from the Royal William Yard… so yeah, everything’s pretty close and it just works perfectly, not to mention there’s a Poundland directly below the building which makes picking up the essentials really easy, even if it is draining my bank account!
Aside from Central Point being within walking distance of the university and most of the clubs and key areas in Plymouth, the staff that work there are all so lovely. Over time you get to know them individually and establish a friendly relationship with them; which is important because it means that if you ever have an issue, you’re not afraid to approach them. If you do have a problem, they’re so quick to get back to you, especially if you get locked out and nobody is on the desk, or if it’s late, someone can be with you in a matter of 10 or 15 minutes to let you in.
