It’s that time of year again; exams are almost over, university is finishing for another year and students up and down the country are starting to leave their accommodation. And let’s face it, packing up your belongings and having to move out is never much fun.
Happy 1st Birthday Host!
It’s our birthday! Host turns one year old this weekend, and we can’t believe a whole year has passed since we launched the Host brand on 1st October 2016.
As our name and strapline suggest, we’re all about providing students with a place to live that they can feel at home in. And our comfortable, stylish and safe student accommodation, combined with a fun, friendly and welcoming environment, does just that.
Don’t believe us? Take a sneak peak at what life is like at Host as we look back on what our students and staff have been up to over the past year across our halls at Host…
Welcome to Host
Is there a better way to celebrate moving in and starting uni than with a party? No. So, that’s exactly what we’ve done; we’ve thrown lots of welcome parties!
‘Tis the season
With lots of seasonal events throughout the year, it’s a great excuse to dig out the fancy dress outfits, deck the halls and eat lots!
Fun and games
Being a student isn’t just about lectures, assignments and revision. It’s a great time to have fun, relax and meet new people. And our social spaces provide just the space for that…
Keeping you fuelled
When lectures start and exams come around, the days can be long. That’s why were on hand to provide you with some goodies to keep you going throughout the day.
Spreading the word
Our teams have set up shop around the UK at various universities, freshers fairs and open days to spread the word and let students know about Host.
There you have it. In just a snapshot, you can see it’s been a busy and fun first year for Host, and as our new residents settle in for 2017/18, we can’t wait for the year ahead!
Getting serious about the environment we live in.
To become more ‘environmentally friendly’, Host is launching the #HostEnvironmentalPledge campaign to encourage responsible behaviour and drive sustainability across our sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
It’s a simple campaign! If we can reduce our overall utilities (electric, water and gas) consumption by 1% then we will donate £10,000, 2% reduction means £20,000, 3% is £30,000 and so on, to 3 charities; BulliesOut, Planet Patrol and World Land Trust.Show me all news

Feeling lonely at university might seem strange but it’s actually very common, but what is loneliness and how do I combat those feelings?
