How about a City Break?
There’s nothing quite like exploring a new city. Whether it’s sunny or cold, rain or snow – there is always something to do. Most cities in the UK have easy transport links, so you can make your way from here to there without any fuss. Explore the streets of London and take in some of the most historic sites in England with a summer stay.
Our Kingston upon Thames location; One Penrhyn Road is a short train trip from the centre of London and Victoria Hall King’s Cross is right next to Camden Town. There is so much to see and do in London that you will want somewhere with that home feel to relax in after a long day.
Not feeling London? How about Birmingham? The UK’s second city and a city rich in culture and history. There is something to be discovered in and around Birmingham for everyone. All our of our Birmingham locations are offering summer accommodation this summer. And all are located within easy reach of the city centre via local transport.
If you want to venture further to the south, Cardiff can offer you a well-rounded welsh experience. Exploring Cardiff town or taking a trip down to the bay. Shand House is located only a few minutes’ walk into the centre. As another option you could head to the music capital of the UK and take in all that Liverpool has to offer. Our Liverpool home, Hope Street Apartments is located a few streets from the Waterfront with the world famous Liver building or take a stroll along the waterfront to the Royal Albert Dock with the Beatles story and loads of bars and restaurants to people watch and enjoy an evening out.
Summer Stays: A Coastal Getaway?
Thankfully in the UK, you’re never too far from the sea. We have some of the most beautiful beaches and you don’t even need to wait until August to enjoy them. Our student accommodation locations are all around the UK so you can find a place to stay for summer, even if you didn’t know you could!
From Southampton on the south coast you can explore all that the Jurassic Coast (including Durdle Door) and the New forest has to offer with an amazing summer stay. You can even take a staycation on a Disney Cruise from Southampton this summer!
At The Printworks in Exeter you can explore Dartmoor and the South Devon coastline including Dawlish, Salcombe and Dartmouth plus Dorset and the Jurassic Coastline is only an hour or two away by car. From our Plymouth locations, you’re just a hop across the Royal Albert Bridge and you have the delights of Cornwall to explore as well as Dartmoor and the South Devon Coastline.
Or a visit to the Countryside?
Sometimes you just want to be at one with nature. There’s nothing more peaceful than a summer stay with a country walk, having a pub lunch, and exploring a small market town; and many of our locations allow you to do just that.
Birmingham and Coventry allow provide you with an amazing base to explore the delights of the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire and Warwickshire. Did you know that there’s a steam train that takes you from Birmingham City Centre to Stratford Upon Avon on weekends in July, August and September? What better way to arrive in Shakespeare’s birthplace than by steam train?
And as mentioned Southampton allows great access to the New Forest and Plymouth/Exeter for Dartmoor. While our Sheffield location, Central Quay gives you amazing access to the Peak District National Park.

Getting serious about the environment we live in.
To become more ‘environmentally friendly’, Host is launching the #HostEnvironmentalPledge campaign to encourage responsible behaviour and drive sustainability across our sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
It’s a simple campaign! If we can reduce our overall utilities (electric, water and gas) consumption by 1% then we will donate £10,000, 2% reduction means £20,000, 3% is £30,000 and so on, to 3 charities; BulliesOut, Planet Patrol and World Land Trust.Show me all news
