Leeds Beckett

Leeds Beckett University is a technical university with over 20,000 fulltime students from almost 100 countries around the world.

With a 190-year history of education, which began with the founding of the Leeds Mechanics Institute in 1824, the University places a strong focus on employability after graduation and all courses include the option for at least two weeks of work-related learning per year.

The university is split between two campuses one in the city centre and another at Headingley. The university consists of 14 schools including Law, Social Sciences and Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management.

The university changed its name from Leeds Metropolitan in 2014, named after one of the university’s founding colleges, Beckett Park.

Notable Alumni include, Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs, Stuart Lancaster former England Rugby Head Coach and Lord Eric Pickles.

Host – The Foundry is a 10 minute walk Leeds Beckett university and 40 minutes via public transport to Leeds Beckett – Headingley Campus.
