Nottingham

The University of Nottingham was founded as University College Nottingham in 1881 and was granted a royal charter to become a university in 1948. Nottingham is organised into five faculties, within which there are more than 50 schools, departments, institutes and research centres. The university is the UK’s 9th largest university based on total student enrolment with almost 35,000 students. The university’s alumni have been awarded a variety of prestigious accolades, including 3 Nobel Prizes, a Fields Medal, a Turner Prize, and a Gabor Medal and Prize.

Nottingham is ranked 2nd in the UK (after Oxford) and 13th in the world in terms of the number of alumni listed among CEOs of the 500 largest companies worldwide. In 2022 the University was ranked 20th in the Complete University Guide.

Lace Market Studios is a 23 minute tram ride from the university campus, while The Rise is a 16 minute tram ride or 10 minute cycle ride from the Jubilee Campus.
