LOVE LIVING WITH HOST? Rebook for September 2025
The weekend is upon us, and usually we’d all have that wonderful Friday feeling. The anticipation of university classes finishing for the week and the excitement of having two days off. And for many, hitting the gym or an exercise class is the perfect way to relax.
But just because the country is on lockdown, it shouldn’t get in the way of your exercise regime. Whether you’re new to exercise or you’re a regular, there are so many different workouts and exercises you can do without a gym and without any fancy weights or equipment. In fact, you can keep fit right from the comfort of your home!
If you’re not sure where to begin, fear not, we’re here to help. As part of our #AtHomeWithHost campaign, we’ll be providing you with some top weekend workouts you can try over the next few weeks.
So, to kick things off, we’ve opted for the one and only Mr Joe Wicks aka The Body Coach. If you hadn’t already heard of him, you probably will have done in the last week or two. Joe has been a hit with households around the country as children and adults alike tune into his YouTube channel every weekday at 9am for his live PE with Joe Wicks classes.
But it’s not just PE classes he teaches. There’s a full range of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts, exercises for different parts of the body, stretches and also some dumbbell and kettlebell workouts.
Below are just a few of our top picks to get you going.
The great thing with Joe’s workouts is there’s something for everyone regardless of age or ability. And if you’re thinking you don’t have time to fit a workout in, most of the workouts are less than 20 or 30 minutes – some are only 10 minutes long. So there’s no excuses.
Exercising at home will not only help sustain your physical health, but also your mental health – which is incredibly important, particularly during the current unnerving times.
So, whether you’re feeling motivated and fancy giving one of Joe’s workouts a go, or you’ve got your own regime lined up, we’d love to know how you’re keeping fit whilst #AtHomeWithHost.
Share with us your workouts by tagging us on social media (@hoststudentsuk) and using the hashtags #AtHomeWithHost and #WeekendWorkout. We’ll be able to share across our channels and hopefully inspire others to get moving too!
We’ll be posting a new weekend workout here, on our news page, every Friday for the next few weeks, so keep an eye out. You can also follow us on social media for the latest tips, advice and updates.
To become more ‘environmentally friendly’, Host is launching the #HostEnvironmentalPledge campaign to encourage responsible behaviour and drive sustainability across our sites throughout the UK and Ireland.
It’s a simple campaign! For every percent we reduce our overall utilities (electric, water and gas) consumption by we donate to one of our nominated charities.
