De Montfort Student Union.

An independent, student-run and student-led organisation. De Montfort Student Union (DSU) is designed to represent your academic interests, involve, and inspire you to make the most of your time at De Montfort University.

Did you know that every student that has enrolled at De Montfort University automatically becomes a member of DSU. This means that you gain access to their services, activities and facilities.

DSU is just a 2-minute bike ride or 6-minute walk away from Host Student Accommodation properties, 41 Castle Street and The Glassworks. We have done our research on DSU to list all the benefits of your nearest student union. Whether you are looking to meet new mates or try something new, De Montfort Student Union have something for you.


The events.

With activities listed all the way to end of December 2022, DSU have lots of events planned for the rest of the year. De Montfort Student Union boast organising the biggest and best events across Leicester.

Someone say freshers fortnight? 2 weeks. 18 events. 5 venues. The event list for Freshers is jam packed with events such as welcome parties, silent discos and pub quizzes.

Join a sport.

De Montfort’s Union boast over 25 sports clubs ranging from lacrosse to American football. Have you always wanted to try a new sport but never had the opportunity? Start a new sport at beginner level and make new mates in the process.


Be part of something.

The Union are proud to offer 60+ societies which students can join and be a part of. Don’t see a society you want? DSU are always happy to start new societies which receive popular interest. To give you a taster of the societies available, look here.


Advice and well-being.

DSU take your health and well-being seriously. From COVID-19 advice to help and guidance with studying – they have resources for you.

Most importantly DSU is passionate about students being themselves. DSU celebrate ALL students.
