You can choose on-campus accommodation which is organised by your university. This option is usually good if you want to be close to campus and you are in the safety of university grounds but gives you less flexibility in choosing your exact room and amenities.
Private student accommodation are large apartment buildings which are built specifically for students. They offer flexibility with dates and room types and are usually situated very close to university and college campuses. They are known for having great security and amazing facilities – for example, gyms, games rooms, study spaces, cinema’s as well as more ‘typical’ common rooms.

Renting privately can give you flexibility for location and room type. This option means you are less likely to be around other students and renting privately can be costly due to monthly bills. Be aware that online student accommodation this option comes without safety, for example CCTV and on-site staff.
Student accommodation can sell out quickly depending on where you choose to go. Start researching local student accommodation close to your campus as soon as you can to ensure you secure the best possible accommodation for your requirements.
What if I book student accommodation but don’t get the grades?
Most private student halls offer No Place No Pay, so don’t worry if you don’t receive the right grades in August.
Viewing student accommodation before you book can be difficult if you live far away. In this case, make sure to check out their social media pages. Facebook and Instagram accounts can give you great insight to their facilities and events.

If you are looking for a quiet and private space, a studio apartment may be more suitable. You get your own en-suite, bedroom, and kitchen area. Studio spaces are more expensive than classic en-suite rooms with shared facilities.
