Host Vincent Place Southampton lounge

The story so far: Vincent Place, Southampton

The countdown’s on and we’re excited. We’ve just over three months until we open our doors and welcome students to our brand-new Southampton student accommodation. So, we thought we’d look back at how far Vincent Place has come in such a short space of time.

Progress of our development

Let’s rewind to the latter part of 2016. We were thrilled to see the foundations going in the ground and the frame work of the building going up. We also saw the arrival of our show flat and the colourful Host hoardings around the site.

From the start, it’s been full steam ahead; the floors rose from the ground up before we knew it. In November, we saw the first floor take its shape, and by mid-December we’d already multiplied that to three floors high.

But we didn’t stop there. As we moved into 2017, it wasn’t long before we started to see a real transformation of the building. By February we reached the top of the build and the main body could be seen.

With the building standing high and the sun shining in March, we took the opportunity to snap a few photos. We captured the beautiful views across the park towards Southampton Solent University and in the opposite direction towards Westquay shopping centre.

What about now?

But over the past few weeks we’ve been keeping things under wraps – quite literally. In April, the building was wrapped and ready for cladding to go up on the outside of the building. And with the exterior near completion, the interior of the building is coming along nicely too. Kitchens are being fitted and the furniture is being put in place in the bedrooms – ready for you to have a comfortable night’s sleep after a busy day.

Talking of busy days, you won’t be short of something to do at Vincent Place. It’s not just beautiful bedrooms and living spaces we’ve been working hard to bring to you, we’re in the process of installing some cool, modern and comfortable social spaces for you to relax and unwind in. Catch up with your friends and the latest series in the large lounge and TV area, work up a sweat in the on-site gym, or watch the sun go down on the roof terrace. Whatever you choose, we’re sure you’ll feel right at home at Vincent Place.

Like what you’ve read and seen about Vincent Place? You’re not the only one. We’ve had lots of students visit our on-site show flat for a look at what they can enjoy when they move in later in the year. We’ve even suited and booted some students and taken them on a tour around the building so they can see for themselves the progress and ins and outs of Vincent Place.
