Cardiff Metropolitan University was known as the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) until 2011. Cardiff Met consists of five academic schools: the school of education; health science; management; sport and art and design. The university has over 12,000 students.

The university is split across four campuses all within a three-mile radius of central Cardiff, and facilities include the famous National Indoor Athletics Centre, the National Lawn Tennis Association Centre and a sports centre that allows for the disabled and able-bodied to train together.

In 2021, the University won the Times Higher Education University of the Year award And in 2022 was ranked 63rd in the Complete University Guide.

Our Shand House location is a 17 minute bus ride from the university’s Cyncoed campus and under 30 minutes from the university’s Llandaff campus.
