The University of Plymouth is renowned for high quality, internationally-leading education, research and innovation. Founded in 1862 as the School of Navigation, the University of Plymouth is now the UK’s 15th largest university. Plymouth was granted university status in 1992 the university is now home to almost 18,000 full time students.

The University of Plymouth consists of five faculties: Arts and Humanities, Business, Health and Human Sciences, Medicine and Dentistry, and Science and Engineering.

The university was placed second in the UK, and 86th globally in the 2018 Times Higher Education Young University Rankings and was the first university to be awarded the social enterprise mark. While more recently the university made it into the top 50 of UK universities in the 2022 Guardian Universtiy Guide.

The Old Dairy is just 5 minutes’ walk from the university, while Frobisher House is a 7 minute walk.
