Pride month 2022

Pride Month 2022

Here at Host, we’re proud to promote a diverse living and working environment and actively encourage our staff and students to celebrate Pride month. Pride month or LGBT History month aims to promote equality and diversity for the benefit of the public.

Around the world every June, various events are held as a way of recognising the influence LGBT people have had on the world. Why was June chosen? Because it is when the Stonewall Riots took place, way back in 1969, find out more about the Stonewall riots here.

As Pride Month begins, we look back at some of our sites previous celebrations. Each year Host sites take part by decorating their social spaces and handing out pride themed goodies! Shand House in Cardiff, Host Student Apartments in Birmingham, The Hub in London, and Lace Market Studios in Nottingham are just some of our locations celebrating this wonderful month.

To become more ‘environmentally friendly’, Host is launching the #HostEnvironmentalPledge campaign to encourage responsible behaviour and drive sustainability across our sites throughout the UK and Ireland.

It’s a simple campaign! For every percent we reduce our overall utilities (electric, water and gas) consumption by we donate to one of our nominated charities.
